The UPS is meant to only give you sufficient power to either help you switch on the alternate power like a generator / alternator or save your work and shut down the system that you are working on. When one is quite engrossed in his / her work one may not notice that the main power has failed and will continue to work with the UPS power if there are no indications.
This is where the necessity of a warning comes up. Standard UPS incorporates both audio and visual warnings for the user to understand that the power is being consumed form the battery and not from the main line.
Visual warning:
There are UPS that have one LED, two LED's and three LED's. For UPS with a single LED, the LED glows a green color, indicating the system is working on the main power line. When the power fails, the LED turns either amber or a red with blinking at an interval of thirty seconds indicating that the UPS is working with back up power; power being supplied from the battery that is in the UPS. After for a particular duration of time and if by then the power is not restored by switching on a generator / alternator, the light turns a bright red along with continuous blinking indicating that you have a critical two minutes left for the power of the battery to drain out and crash abruptly.
For UPS with two LED's the green is a solo type indicating mains; and the type, then only one green light is visible. If the UPS is having two lights then the green LED is ?ON? and the other LED is off indicating main power line consumption. When the power main power fails, the other LED i.e. either a red or amber comes on indicating the power is of last two minutes. This is accompanied by continuous blinking of the LED indicator.
For UPS that have three LED's , the green indicates UPS working from main lines, the amber
indicates the UPS working from battery back up and the red LED indicates UPS working from
critical backup. As mentioned in the UPS with two LED's the blinking of the UPS is the same
here too. For back up it is blinking at the rate of thirty seconds per blink and for critical power it is blinking at the rate of almost one second per blink.
Audio warning:
Almost all UPS have an audio warning incorporated into the circuit. The audio warning is a beep, which during critical back up power being consumed the beep is continuous with a frequency that is equal to the blink rate. The audio warning gives one an indication that it is high time you shout down your UPS after saving critical data.
Audio And Visual Equipment
Most people spend so much time on their ad copy that they forget to connect with their customer. They are busy making sure they have a powerful headline with a sub headline with an interesting letter with bullet points and bonuses. It can be so incredibly easy to get so caught up in the details of copywriting that you essentially forget to connect with your prospect.
People need to know that you are a real person. Good copywriting will allow the reader to hear your voice indirectly, but there is nothing more powerful than a message directly from you, the author, allowing them to hear what you have to say with your real vocal cords! People can relate to another real person much better than to another perfect webpage. There are two ways to connect with your customer like never before.
#1 Audio
First there is a vocal message. This is the most cost effective way and simple to connect with the traffic you carefully funneled to your site. The program is called Instant Audio that allows you to create as many messages as you want either by calling the company and recording your message over the phone or by just plugging in a small microphone and talking right into the program. This program is extremely basic. After you have finished recording they give you some html code that you just insert on your website wherever you want.
This way people have the option to hear from the author. Personally, I have notice most people stay longer on my site after adding this feature. While they listen to my 30 second message they start browsing the site, and hopefully get hooked. People much rather get a quick feel for the site without having to read as crazy as that may sound.
I actually did a whole website to try out the theory that voice helps sell product. I set up a webpage that had limited web copy, so much so, there was hardly any need to scroll down the page, you could almost see the whole thing on one screen. Then I recorded me selling my product in about a one minute sales pitch and had it automatically play as soon as someone landed on my site. I was shocked by the results. I sold more on that site than on a similar site with a long sales letter and no voice. Now, most of my sites combine the both the sales letter and the voice and I have had the best results yet.
#2 Visual
The second relational method is to ad visual. You could ad a short video of yourself or use a promotional tool such as Live Face On Web, either way people are drawn into your site and feel like they are relating to a real face of the website. With today’s technology there is absolutely no reason to not relate to your customer and allow them to know that you are real. With the popularity of youtube.com and TV in general, it is obvious that people enjoy watching over reading.
My personal recommendation is to keep the sales letter that you worked so hard on, but ad something original that will set you apart like audio or visual. Not many websites have gone this route yet, but I believe this is the direction websites are heading.
