Here's a useful travel tool for those who have an iPhone or an IPod touch. Or, for those who were hoping to purchase one of these versatile gadgets. American Historic Inns and ILoveInns.com, publishers of more than 60 award-winning travel guidebooks, recently unveiled their latest travel aid - InnTouch. This free and easy-to-download program, available exclusively for Apple iPhone and iPod touch, allows travelers to quickly research, locate and book a room at a bed and breakfast, country inn or boutique hotel.



With more than 3,500 properties to choose from in more than 2,000 cities throughout the United States and Canada, InnTouch offers detailed descriptions of rooms, photos of the inns, rates, area maps and with one touch you can link to the inn's website. Even better, if you want to book a room, simply touch the "Call" button and you will be connected to the inn or boutique hotel in just seconds. The InnTouch software is free and all you have to do is go to the Apple App Store and download the software onto your iPhone or iPod Touch.

InnTouch for iPhone provides accurate travel information, updated around the clock, from inn owners and the iLoveInns staff, as well as up to 10 photos per inn. As an added bonus, ILoveInns.com has included more than 1,200 favorite innkeeper recipes on the application, so you can create some inn ambiance in your own home.

Chris Monahan, the chief technology officer at iLoveInns, designed the application and explains, "You can search for inns by city or area, using the "Nearby" feature. This pulls your GPS coordinates and shows you nearby bed & breakfasts or boutique hotels and inns within 60 miles."

With the phone being an all-in-one device, a person can call with one touch; not dialing each digit of the phone number. They can see the inn address on a map, get directions, save the address in their contact list as well as email or visit the inn website with single click actions.

"InnTouch has been enthusiatically received," Monahan said. "After its first week, travelers are already using it worldwide. We plan to add many additional features in the next year.
