Canes & Walking Sticks

    View:
Purchasing promotional walking sticks could help your business to impress someone. These sticks are often given away as gifts or as a thank you for some reason. Your business can imprint the company's logo, their promotional message or even a personal message on the sticks and give them away. When put to good use, the promotional message is easily carried out over a large range of people, well beyond just the first person that you have sent the message to. In fact, you may have been able to let thousands of people see your message, logo or brand information with just the use of one walking stick giveaway.

Why A Walking Stick?

There are many promotional products available that work well as giveaways. When choosing one, you should always look at what the product is and how well it works within your organization. With promotional walking sticks, you have a range of ways to use them. The key is to look not only at what the stick is used for but also the image that it portrays to the user and those that see it. Walking sticks are used in golf, at trade shows and they even are a great choice for hiking. Some people need them to walk, but most of those who use them will do so as a way of getting a bit of support. With your company's logo on them, you are the one supporting this person, someone that may be important or special in some way.

Promotional walking sticks also do well as gifts. Giving away these promotional items as a gift to someone who is in need may be a good way to gain their respect. An older member of the group may see this as a bad tasting gift, if they are given it as a symbol of age. On the other hand, a middle aged person will see it as a well selected gift, one that shows just how valuable these individuals are to you. Promotional walking sticks also help to give the message of power and prestige, which many people will appreciate.

To impress someone, look for a promotional gift that really hits home, something that they can really enjoy or benefit from. For example, if you are heading out on the golf course with potential new client, select a walking stick that transfers into a small bench, which they can use throughout the green as they need to. Of course, on that walking stick is your promotional message, for not only that individual to see but anyone that may be working with him, golfing with him or passing by.

Promotional walking sticks are a great way to get the message out and to show that you are a business to be reckoned with. They are a symbol of support, help and even prestige. Purchasing these and giving them away as gifts, either to anyone that deserves it or one person in particular will be a good way to get your message out in a possible manner.
Canes & Walking Sticks
At the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th, walking sticks were as much a part of every day life as were hats. A majority of men carried walking sticks or canes, and in many cases, ladies did as well. Walking sticks could be used to conceal whips which would be used to spur on horses or whilst driving a carriage or wagon. They could even be used to conceal guns, knives, swords, even musical instruments or stolen goods. At one time in American history, it was considered a rite of passage for a young man to carve for himself the walking stick he would use for the rest of his days.

It is no wonder, then that printed walking sticks were among the earliest promotional items put to use by advertisers. The first records of walking sticks as promotional tools come in the 1920's. The name or logo of a business could be printed on the length of the cane or the head of the walking stick could be a symbol of the company, so that every time a client closed his hand around that head, he was reminded of the business that he acquired the item from.

Though walking sticks are not as much a part of our everyday dress as they once were, they are still used, and therefore still make good promotional items. The most important thing is to know your customer base. Who uses walking sticks, and what kind do they use? There are two types of walking sticks, the classical type that can also be called a cane, and the king used for hiking.

Traditional Walking Sticks

Branded walking sticks used to be made only out of wood, and you can still get very nice ones with beautiful wood veneers. These are excellent backgrounds to your company brand, logo, and contact information. Traditional walking sticks can also be made of aluminium, which is a light metal and offers many different colours. There are three major customer bases for these walking sticks. The elderly use them frequently in order to help them maintain their balance and take pressure off sore joints. Younger disabled people use them for the same reason, especially since a walking stick is less intrusive in their lives than crutches or a wheelchair. And of course, there are the old-fashioned who dream of a more elegant, refined time, when a gentleman was never without his walking stick.

Hiking Sticks

Branded hiking sticks also come in wood and aluminium of varying colours. They can be highly decorated with either a traditional or modern motif, which is a real benefit for the promotional industry, since they offer more surface area for imprinting your information than do traditional sticks. As the name suggests, hiking sticks are most useful to those who hike, but they also appeal to those who have a sense of the tradition behind them. Not everybody can carve their own walking stick, so your promotional gift will serve them well as they walk.
