Have you found yourself questioning the loyalty of your spouse? Is there a way to tell if your partner has the characteristics of somebody who would cheat? Unfortunately there is nothing set in stone; however, relationship experts have found people that cheat tend to have certain personality traits in common.



Traits to look for in a potential cheater:

- Cheating at everything

This is not limited to relationships. This is the type of person that will cheat when it comes to work or school. Anything they can do to make life easier on themselves and appear to have no regard for others.

- They have cheated in the past

This is a blatant sign that you are with a potential cheater. If you know about your spouses past and you know that some of their relationships ended on less than stellar terms than you can chalk this up as a person who could potentially break your heart.

- “We're just friends”

If your spouse has a lot of “friends” of the opposite sex than you will want to be aware of what kind of relationship they really have. This can fly totally under the radar if you aren't aware that friends are sometimes more than friends.

- A flirt

If you find the person your questioning loves to flirt than keep your guard up. This is a characteristic of a cheater. Now don't get me wrong, we all like to flirt a little bit, but you'll notice that a person who's susceptible to cheating will often go a little bit farther than a cute comment or a passive shoulder touch.

- Hangs out at bars and clubs

Although bars and clubs are a setting for people to get out, relax and have a good time there is also the underlying reason to go to a bar. Yup, you guessed it, to get picked up. Now, not everybody has that mentality but I can tell you from first hand experience that it's out there – a lot. Be aware of where your spouse goes when they're not with you. Are they at a friends house hanging out and relaxing or are they at the bar without you? The temptation to cheat is there and humans tend to act and then justify what they did after.

- Did their Parents Cheat?

Sometimes cheating runs in the family. If you think your spouse is unfaithful have a look at their parents. Did they have a happy relationship or were they unhappy and or eventually divorced.

- Love excitement

If you're with somebody who loves a good time, this could potentially be a person who will cheat on you. If your relationship doesn't seem to be measuring up they might try and find a certain level of excitement somewhere else. This could be in the form of cheating.

Nobody is going to have all these characteristics; nevertheless, it's good to be aware of them. Keep conscious of what your partners up to, and remember that trying catch a cheating spouse is never great but if they are in fact cheating – 1 of these characteristics could be how you figure it out.
