Choosing A Business Location

    View:
You have heard the expression “location, location, location” when referring to establishing a business. On the internet, this could mean creating an online store at Yahoo!, EBay or maybe Amazon. A brick and mortar establishment requires a different kind of approach. If you open a shop in the wrong place, success may be difficult to find. The bottom line is that you need people to find your business and buy your product. One of the most important decisions is choosing the correct vicinity for opening your enterprise whether it is in the city or on the internet. Remember: “location, location, location”.

There are a variety of ways to help you discover the best business area. You can use location analysis tools that will analyze information such as traffic pattern details, demographics, area lifestyle data and competition analysis. These are instrumental facts for starting your research. Before investing money into this type of study, consider these other ideas as an option for beginning your investigation.

One of the first things that you need to consider is the zoning laws. Is the area being examined zoned for your specific business? These laws prevent people from selling certain merchandise or materials in different parts of the city. Talk with the city-licensing department in your community to find an answer.

The next step is to analyze the internal design of the location. Is the layout preferable for your business? Will you need to do any demolition work? Does the building need any repairs? Are there enough electrical outlets in the right areas? Will you need to rewire? What about plumbing? Will you require restrooms for your consumers? After you have examined the inside, it is time to consider the outside area.

Traffic flow and parking will be major concerns. You want to have enough automobile movement on the street to produce potential customers. It is important to provide a convenient and safe area for your customers to leave their vehicles as well. You don't want them parking a long distance from your store during inclement weather or to put their car in harms way on a busy street. Curb appeal will be next on your list.

Does the exterior location fit your business image? The outside of your building and the surrounding area must appeal to your potential customers. Ask yourself if you would frequent an establishment in the place that you are considering. Do you have appropriate external lighting? Can customers see your store at night? Will they feel safe entering and exiting?

Creating a home based business or a brick and mortar store requires homework. To make money online you must decide where to open your internet venture, how to find customers and what products to sell. A brick and mortar establishment uses a different set of questions. Where is the best location for your type of business? Does the building require a lot of work? Is the environment safe? Is it a convenient setting? Is the outside appealing? Everything you do must enhance the shopping experience of customers. If you apply some of these ideas to the location being considered for a brick and mortar store, success may be easier to find.

“Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved.”
Choosing A Business Location
In choosing a videographer, one that would be working on my wedding, I'd be most concerned with one thing, experience. The person behind the camera would have to prove to me that he's not practicing his craft on my special day, that he knows what he's doing and is capable of being creative as well as detail oriented. Many amateur videographers or those that are trying to get into the business start out by working on weddings, and like in most things, you learn from your mistakes. Unfortunately they make mistakes on somebody's wedding day, a day that unlike TV and movies, cannot be recreated.

But, it is easy to avoid the pitfall of using an inexperienced videographer or one that will do a less than desirable job. Don't hire someone without speaking with him/her first, knowing their background and seeing a sample of their work. It is also advisable to ask others you trust about who did their wedding videography and if it came out the way they wanted.

Many couples outsource a wedding company that specializes in making wedding videos, and these companies have a list of videographers that they feel comfortable using. Even though a wedding company will use a videographer it doesn't mean that person is going to do a good job on your wedding, it just means they know how to use a camera, which is a good start. Really the most important part of choosing is to make sure you trust the videographer, that you like him. You should talk with him and make sure you get one that is experienced, detail oriented and one that likes what he does. It might cost a little more but at least you'll get something that in the end should make you very happy.
