Christians Dont Fly Warplanes

    View:
I'm going to force two assumptions to be made in this

article.

To begin with, it is the first and primary duty of all

Christians to follow the words of Christ. That means that one does not go

looking through the rest of the Bible for anything that negates or conditions

the teachings of Jesus.  The religion is called CHRISTianity for a reason.

Second, that to live in any manner that is counter to

those teachings is corrupt and to repeatedly do a wrong once that iniquitous

behavior is acknowledged is an

even greater transgression.

Now, before someone sharpens their poison pens to attack

the words of an admitted unbeliever in any of the thousands of man's myth,

magic, or miracle-based superstitions, understand that I don't care for your

rationalizations.  If you cannot refute what I say using the person's words

that you worship as the direct son of your God, then please just shut up.

I've heard it all and it's boring.

That said and agreed on (because it's my site and I say we

agree because if we don't then, in the words of the moron, "Who cares what you

think?"), let's look at some truths that aren't often acknowledged.

Christians don't kill.  That should be an absolute

given.  The Ten Commandments declare that action to be a failing of the

soul and Christ never uttered

a word to contradict that.  In fact, as you can see in the quotes below,

Jesus demanded that this commandment be followed at all times.   Therefore, Christians don't engage in war on

any level.  Christians don't shoot people or fly warplanes or drop bombs or

voluntarily take up arms or any other of the acts of war that leads to the injury or death of another human

being.  His instructions were unbelievably precise;

Matthew 5:9    Blessed [are] the peacemakers: for they shall be called the

children of God.

Matthew 5:7    Blessed [are] the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

Matthew 5:19    Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least

commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the

kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach [them], the same shall

be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:38    Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye,

and a tooth for a tooth:

Matthew 5:39    But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever

shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Matthew 5:43    Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy

neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

Matthew 5:44     But I say

unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that

hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.

Okay, I'll admit it.  Following this teaching won't

make your life or the moron's life into much of a Rambo-style "Vengeance is

mine stayeth the draft dodgers" saga.  Nor will it allow the little

moron and his black hearted regime to murder tens of thousands of human

beings as vengeance for the evils inflicted upon us. It won't make for much

of a "Movie of the Week" nor will it play well with the morally and socially

retarded folks who live and die by Jerry Springer or Fox News.

In fact, this demand, because that is exactly what it is,

will only irritate those for whom violence and destruction are part and

parcel of their lives.  Those who love creating bigger and more lethal

weapons are certainly working against this message simply because they are

in a constant search for bigger and bigger "eyes" to even scores with.

It won't allow those who collect massive amounts of wealth for producing

those weapons to proclaim their love of Jesus.  Those like the little

moron, who allows his mental superiors (go look under a rock for great

examples of those), will have to either get up off his knees and put a stop

to the carnage around the world or else cease pretending to be a Christian.

In fact the exact opposite will be true, won't it?

We would become a nation that does not seek revenge but will, instead, live

among all the other nations on Earth as equals.  We would share the

astonishing wealth that the world offers while constantly searching for ways

to make the lives of all better than before.  We would not consider our

lives full unless we knew that the ingenuity and intellectual wealth of this

and all nations was being used in the search for peace and the common good

among all mankind.

Fact of the matter is that, should mankind truly follow

these teachings, we would help to create a world in which we need fear few

of our fellow passengers.  With the loving acceptance of the notion

that all roads of love and brotherhood leads to an understanding of god or

simple goodness and that any path is acceptable to all, ninety percent of

the evil and violence in this world would disappear overnight.

So, as far as vile little creatures like the moron and

his minions who love to proclaim the sanctity of their religion goes, they

should just be ignored and pushed aside by those who do wish to live a life

that reflects the belief that all of us, be there a god or not, are equal

and precious and unique.  No one is more valuable simply because they

have the rather mundane ability to illegally acquire power or high office.

If anyone wonders about why such silliness should not be an indicator of the

value of a person, look at who has power and office in America - the inane

members of the Bush family and Dick Chaney and Clinton and Gore and all that

came before or will come after - and see that power seems to be attracted to

the most inane and least necessary among us.  Then look about at those

without whom this world and what passes for a civilization would crumble.

Look at the teachers and nurses and the firemen and the (decent) policeman

and all of the other actual pillars upon which we so profoundly rely each

day.  Power is attracted only, it seems, to those who have nothing else

of worth to pass their time.

A Christian does not fly a warplane nor does a Christian

send out another to injure and kill.  A real Christian does not use

their earthly powers to harm another, ever, at any time.  These acts

cannot be executed nor, truth be told, even envisioned under the

commandments.

Gentle readers, while I cannot bring myself to believe in

any supernatural being who would have so much excess time on his or her

hands that they would bother with nations or religions or any group

activities, I can see the purpose to behaving as if there is a being that

cares about us individually.  When we each behave as if every other

human being is our responsibility and their welfare our duty, then god or no

god and superstitions or not, we will have acted in our own best interests

in the very long run.
