Debit Cards For Teens

    View:
The process of using debit cards is very much like using a regular credit card but they are not the same just like what some people think. Most financial consultants recommend the use of debit cards instead of credit cards simply because it could reduce or even eliminate the risk of having debts in the long run. Credit cards are issued by banks or companies that let you spend a certain or set amount of money each month and you will receive a bill or statement that will show all of the purchases you have made during the month or period.

You will be given some days to pay for your balance and they even let you pay only the minimum amount required if you can't pay the whole amount. Of course they will charge you extra for the interest if you fail to pay the whole amount. Any unpaid balances remain outstanding, and when increased next month by further purchases, can quickly lead to you expending all the credit available on that card. You'll find yourself stuck with debt and it could even give you a hard time in paying.

Debit cards are different because the funds or money will come directly from your checking account or savings bank account. This way, you will use your own money in making a purchase. You will not be stuck in debt because you don't have to owe anybody big amounts of money. Debit cards can be compared to personal checks but they are more convenient to use. One of the best examples of this is a Visa debit card. Most people prefer to use Visa debit card because it is safe, convenient, and easy to use. They look just like credit cards so they are easy to carry anywhere. Visa debit cards are accepted anywhere that you use a credit card.

If you will use Visa debit cards, you don't have to carry huge amount of money or cash with you. There is no need to carry a chequebook or other unwieldy items - a single card is all you need. Using Visa debit cards is also more secure especially if you are using the one that requires a personal identification number or pin. Thieves could easily forge your signature but if you are using debit cards that require PIN, only one person knows the PIN and that is you. A further security measure that impedes unauthorised access to your money. It is vital to immediately notify the issuer if your card is missing.

Make sure to monitor all of your expenses regularly to be able to control your spending habits and manage your finances well. Set your spending plan for each week or month, and stick to it. Transactions can be viewed online, via your card providers portal. Protect your PIN and never reveal it to anyone. A common mistake is to record the PIN with the card - carry yours in your memory only.
Debit Cards For Teens
Are you one of those people who are now scrambling to get debit cards? If you aren't, then let me tell you a few things about these cards. These cards are often tied in with a major credit card so you can use them like a credit card. However, you can only spend the amount of money you actually have with this card. This card is also tied into your checking account.

The basic idea behind debit cards is to reduce the need to write checks. These cards fit right in with everything quickly becoming paperless these days. These cards can also be your ATM card. You will not receive additional charges for a cash advance as long as you use it at your bank's ATM because you are actually taking your own money out of the bank.

This type of card look very similar to a credit card and usually only the person using the card knows that it is not a credit card. You can distinguish between a credit card and these cards in a few different ways. For instance, you will notice that the bank logo and the word ‘debit' are on the card.

The most significant difference between the two is the way the cards work and where the money comes from. You can use debit cards as either a debit card or credit card, while credit cards can only be used as a credit card. Debit cards also do not carry a line of credit. The purchases you can make with this type of card cannot exceed the amount of money that you have in your bank account.

The risk involved is another major difference between credit and debit cards. You will have a lot of problems if you lose your card. Losing debit cards is very risky because they are attached to your bank account. A thief can easily drain your bank account because a pin number is not required to use these cards.

On the other hand, the only problem with losing a credit card is proving that someone else used the card. On the other hand, you have figure out how to get your money back with a debit card. The legal liability is much greater with these cards than with a credit card.

Of course, you can also benefit from the advantages of using these cards. Debit cards gives you the freedom to use it anywhere credit cards are accepted. These cards eliminate the hassle of having to write a check and showing some sort of identification.

These cards are also easy to use and are accepted in a large variety of places. These cards are also more convenient than checks or an ATM. Nevertheless, you have to use these cards carefully and make sure that you keep it in a safe place because there are also some risks involved.
