When you dig for diamonds in Arkansas, sometimes you have to go through a lot of dirt to find the diamond treasures that are there. Sometimes the diamonds are laying right there on the top. They can be easily overlooked because a diamond in the raw doesn't look like one cleaned, cut, and set in a beautiful setting.



In your "busy-ness" of conducting your business, don't forget to take time for your own personal, permanent treasure hunt. Your own Diamond Dig, if you will. Your

treasures consist of far more than products, marketing, networking, sells, accounting, clients, taxes, supplies, shipping, etc., etc., etc.

For example, in your marriage, go treasure hunting! There are some "treasures" that are permanent. And, there are others that may not be as permanent as it might seem at first glance.

Here are some that may not be so permanent after all.

1.The Photos - I have lost photos due to water in the wrong place. Aunt Gladys and Uncle Fred lost photos in the fire that destroyed their house. Nope, the photos are not

permanent.

2.Rings - A thief or thieves broke in our house. Among a number of irreplaceable things he or they took were my engagement ring and my wedding band. (FYI - My hands were swollen that day and I could not get them on my fingers.) Nope, rings are not as permanent as they may seem.

3.Wedding attire - Hummmm, fires, water in wrong places, moths, mold, mildew. Nope, wedding attire is not permanent.

4.Gifts - Do things ever wear out or get broken in your house? "Mommy, I'm sorry. It was just an accident. I didn't mean to do it…" Nope, gifts come, gifts go, gifts

get broken or just flat wear out.

5.Your appearance - Ten years after the wedding you may be the same size, but you are still ten years older. If you don't believe me, just pull out photos of yourself ten years

ago and compare with the person in the mirror. See what I mean? Nope, appearances change, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worst. But, they do change.

Now, what are some of the treasures that are permanent? Most of them are right there on the top of the dirt. They're yours for the taking.

1."I do!" - Your wedding vows are permanent. Just make up your mind to say "I still say 'I do' today" everyday. Yep, very permanent.

2. Memories - These come in two varieties - good ones and not so good ones. How many you make of each variety is up to you. But you will make them. Which ones will you choose to make today?

3.Whatever it was that attracted you to each other. This one may be hiding under some dirt, but it is still there, somewhere. This one is very much worth going on a treasure hunt and rediscovering.

4.The love God has for you individually and together, no matter what. John 3:16 confirms that!
