Ever picked up a piece of marketing and were just bored to tears by it? I could almost hear a monotone voice saying the words without any hint of enthusiasm, and I imagine to myself the person writing this material slumped over a desk with a bored look on their face and an empty mug of coffee to their side.

I'm sure the image I've described will appropriately describe quite a few people who are currently working on marketing this very moment. They don't really care at all about what they're saying, and so the material itself is practically contaminated by their lack of interest.

They might even be writing in excited tones, but they lack emotion and they lack true substance. Consider a company who might be doing custom poster printing. Poster printing is a form of advertising that usually calls a lot upon emotions, and if the person designing it isn't feeling any of those emotions they might not be able to put much of anything into the poster.

All of this is obviously very dependent on individual people and the experiences they have. You have to take a moment to step back and evaluate what you're doing and whether or not you still carry the same level of excitement for your material that you did when you first started.

Part of this might even involve bringing someone different in to handle your marketing if you're a larger company, or even for the small business owner seeking advice from someone else to figure out a way to boost up your excitement level again.

Whatever you end up doing you have to do something if you don't want to let your marketing start to falter. Your customers will tell, and your sales will begin to suffer because of it. Try to vary things up before this ever happens.
