Points of view regarding the existence of this are still being debated amongst doctors and medical scientists. If we sit and think very good at this fact we realize that technically speaking men couldn't be able to have menopause, because having a menopause means that one's periods have stopped and that thatsomeone can't have children any more. This can't be the case in men since they don't have periods. On the other hand a male equivalent can be talked about if we realize that they to experience something similar to the menopause. Because it doesn't involve the same stuff as in women, men's menopause is called andropause. Symptoms have been found out to be actually quite similar as the ones experienced in women that are at menopause.



Studies and tests done have shown that the male andropause actually involves the same process as in women and that is: the loss of the male hormone, the testosterone. The difference in male and female menopause is that the level decrease in female estrogens happens quite suddenly where ass the levels of testosterone in men tend to decreases gradually over time, that being quite a serious number of years. It is believed that the level of testosterone in men drops with about 1% every year; still cases have been known were a 70 year old man could and had the same levels of young 20 year old one.

Symptoms in andrpopause are as in many other disorders dependent on some factors like age, build, type of life, diet and many more other factors. Because of this they tend to be quite diverse. One the first, if the not the first, symptoms in the male body with be of physical nature: the man would start to develop a beer belly and wrinkling will almost certainly appear in the face. Muscle mass may also reduce as a result of hormone decreases ( they tend to be very linked this two factors). Sweating and flushing may appear more often in man and quite suddenly some times, because of sudden physical exercise. Tiredness and fatigue would also be a symptom that would perfectly install its self in the body of the man that experiences a level decrease on testosterone. Low mood is almost every time present in aging man and many times this is a result of a poor sex drive. In all as said before symptoms can be many and very variable.

The most common of complaints regarding the aging factor in men is a poor sex drive, tiredness and fatigue. Hair loss and changes in the shape of the body may also occur and have a demoralizing effect on the man. The way that andropause affects men is very diverse. Still doctors think that this actually more of a psychological problem than a hormonal or physical one. Let's face it, aging is not a good thing for anybody.
