About the Qu-Chi band




Progressively, more and more people are seeking alternative methods of relieving their hay fever symptoms; preferably without the use of drugs. 'Qu-Chi' is the Chinese name for an acupuncture point and means 'crooked pond'. The point lies on the meridian of the Large Intestine. Meridians are pathways around the body, through which vital energy, known as 'Qu' or 'Chi', flows to maintain normal body function. The Qu-Chi point is point number 11 on the line at the elbow and is thought to pull excess energy from the face and the nose.


The Qu-chi point can be located easily. When the elbow is bent, a skin crease is seen. The LI-11 point lies at the end of this crease on the outer side of the arm. It is believed that this point can treat conditions like eczema, urticaria, tennis elbow, sinusitis, skin problems, and joint problems and remove superficial heat from the skin. Investigation by western scientists has revealed that this point can stimulate part of the immune system.

The Qu-Chi band works on the acupressure technique - a traditional Chinese method of healing. It stimulates the Li-11 acupuncture point and is now proven to provide relief from hay fever symptoms.


Basically, the Qu-Chi band is designed to fit snuggly over the elbow and has a small plastic button that works to apply pressure to the Li-11 acupuncture point. When pressure is applied to this point, symptoms caused by allergies and hay fever are dramatically decreased.
