You can do this several ways. If you have a specific person whom you are searching for, you can search for that person's name on its own, or if you are searching for old classmates in general and just want to search for your graduation year and school, you can do that too.



Your first stop in your search for an individual is Google. Yep, believe it or not, this simple technique works more often than a pro investigator would like to admit.Be sure to put the name in quotes (?John Smith?) so that you don't find someone with the same last name but different first name or vice versa. This might work, but if it doesn't, it's likely because that person is either not online or in a phone book or they've changed their name. In this case, you might need to hire a specialist to conduct the search. There are plenty of them online.

To find classmates from school, though, is much easier. Go to reunion.com or classmates.com and set up an account. This has the bonus of allowing other classmates who are searching for you find you too! Now you can look for those who graduated in your graduation year, those who attended during your time period there, or otherwise find classmates from your school. You can even search for someone who just attended at certain times instead of by specific graduation.

Another alternative for finding classmates is to call the school directly and find out if they have alumni lists you can use or gain access to. These lists are usually updated every few years for reunions and so forth and, if they're for a university, might be updated even more often for fund-raising activities. These lists are great if you are hoping to plan a get-together of friends from school without holding an entire class reunion. They're also good for finding individuals you are searching for from your school days.
