Even when you do not allow eating or drinking in areas where there is carpeting, children will always find a way to make a mess, and let us face it, in homes today we are likely to eat and drink in many rooms. Smaller area rugs can be good for use in a place like a master bathroom where you might want some carpet covering, but not everywhere. A high grade marine backed indoor-outdoor rug would be ideal for use in a bathroom.

Expensive Persian or other types of nice area rugs have been used for years to provide an elegant in the home long before wall to wall carpeting came along. Many people still love these types of area rugs today.
