How To Break Habit

    View:
Today you're going to do those badly needed repairs to your roof. You start by putting all your tools and supplies together. You do this before you climb up the ladder onto the roof. You do this because you do not want to take that long trip to the top and discover you did not have all of the necessary tools at your disposal. Nobody wants to start a task from the beginning again.

Whether you want to repair your car or your health, preparation for both are the same. You want to maintain a good appearance, and you want your breath to smell clean when conversing with people. Improving health is the most common reason people try to quit smoking. When you decide to take a go at it, you must have the proper tools to get the job done.

As you know, there are many different products, quit smoking plans, and stop smoking programs on the market today. Nicotine patches, herbal medicines, and gum products are very common. Experts claim the combined usage of these products is useful to individuals who are interested in stopping smoking. Having more tools will better your chances are of succeeding.

A journal will make your toolbox complete and the benefits keeping a journal are substantial. When you begin the process to stop smoking you should consider including a journal to your toolbox and making it part of your program. A toolbox is not complete until you add a journal to it.

1. When you start the process to stop smoking, a lot of different emotions will be part of the experience. You may get anxious and frustrated, possibility angry at times. Journaling can be relief from the wide range of emotions you will experience when going through the process of quitting smoking.

Second, journaling alone can be used as a healthy alternative to the act of smoking. When you would normally be smoking a cigarette, you can instead take a few minutes to write some thoughts or ideas into your journal.

Third, Journaling will help you track your progress and monitor your stop smoking efforts. For example, the journaling process will help you identify weak moments throughout the day. You can focus on staying away from cigarettes at these times of the day.

In the end, there are many other valuable and important benefits that go along with keeping a journal. Odds are strong that you will be happy that you included journaling as one of your tools when you commence the smoking cessation process.
How To Break Habit
For a large percentage of the world's population, smokeless tobacco is a substance they have tried, if not something used regularly. Most people associate smokeless tobacco with sports stars, and incorrectly believe that it is a safe alternative to smoking cigarettes. Unfortunately for smokeless tobacco users, this proves to be wrong, as smokeless tobacco has many harmful effects.

A diverse range of people use this highly addictive substance and no one is safe, regardless of race, social status, or gender. The reasons for going smokeless vary widely from appetite control to generalized stress reduction. This epidemic is harmful to the world. Targeting the world's future with the predominant users being only teens and sometimes preteens, it is a dangerous substance.

The truth of the matter is that teens and smokeless tobacco are getting to be excessively familiar with each other and creating lifelong habits and health risks that are just too great to be overlooked and too dangerous to be ignored. Child use of smokeless tobacco is constantly on the rise, with some users starting when they are only nine or ten.

Rural Caucasian teens have the highest risk of using smokeless tobacco products, and if the teens share a home with an adult user, their risk of following the trend rises dramatically. In the U.S. among high school students grades 9-12, an average of 9.3% use smokeless tobacco. In white male students, the average is about 1 user in 5 students. But what are the effects of smokeless tobacco and what are the advantages and disadvantages of using it? On the plus side of course is "looking cool," and fitting in. It also causes an odd sensation in users by first calming them, through the release of dopamine in the brain, and then exciting them with a release of adrenaline. Also the appetite is reduced.

On the down side are serious ramifications that make the reasons to chew look pretty weak. Use of smokeless tobacco causes a number of cancers, along with tooth and gum problems, bad breath, and of course the financial spending of the user to obtain smokeless tobacco. Most tobacco users with a can a day habit, over three decades at current prices will spend up to fifty thousand dollars on chewing tobacco in their lifetime, assuming they survive long enough.

There are no known cures for either the oral or the gastrointestinal cancers smokeless tobacco brings, and this may potentially cost a fortune in treatment and ultimately funeral costs.

Quitting smokeless tobacco is widely thought to be much harder than quitting the smoking habit. A part of the addiction is the great amount of nicotine absorbed by the body when chewing or dipping. This amount is double that received from smoking a cigarette.

But how can one quit smokeless tobacco? Various products are on the market to help wean users off of snuff and chew, such as a product that uses spearmint to mimic the tobacco without getting the nicotine. And some success has been shown with the same shot that inhibits receptors for smoking. But the way to quit forever without withdrawal, stress, and weight gain is through using hypnosis.

Hypnosis treatment offers a two-fold attack to the systematic chewing or dipping reflex built up by your previous habits and lifestyle choices. It first attacks the psychological reasons why you need a dipp, and then it works to eliminate the mental habit itself.

First consider the emotional reasons for using tobacco products. Dopamine is a "feel good" chemical produced in your body and released by your brain to create a feeling of pleasure. In times of stress, the dopamine produces a general sensation of well being. Some common occurrences of natural release include eating a large meal, or sexual relief. In other words, putting some chew into the mouth gives a sense pleasure and relaxation. The very essence of hypnosis is relaxation, and hypnosis is superb for stress relief and relaxation.

Hypnotherapy also works to break the cycle of expectation that your mind creates. When you habitually put in a chew after dinner, your mind starts to signal to your body that you need a chew every time you are done eating dinner. By blocking or eliminating this unconscious thought process, you will not feel the need to pack your cheek after you pack your stomach.

By extinguishing these two root causes of chewing tobacco use, hypnosis can eliminate the compulsion to dipp or chew, ending your physical need for the extra dopamine release. Thus hypnosis works in freeing you from this surely deadly habit and allows a stress free method for stopping.
