Once you have selected a product to promote, you will not



just suddenly get a lot of people coming to your doorstep to buy

the product you are promoting. Many people set up their website and think

"If I build it, they will come", but this is wrong.

You must actually put in the effort to promote the

product, otherwise no one is going to find it.

There are a lot of ways to promote affiliate products. You

can use the procedure the gurus rave about, and

that is using PPC advertising. You can also use banner

ads or pay per impression promotion if you have

money to invest in paid advertising. But what if you don't

have lots of money to place into advertising? Or what if

you don't know muchabout setting up a proper paid

advertising campaign and as a result you are extremely hesitant to spend

your money on something that may or may not work?

Well, there are many free ways to get traffic to your

website. There is article marketing, forum marketing,

social networking, blogging, podcasting, video marketing,

craigslist and free classified ads. These are all great

ways of driving free traffic to your site. But one thing

you must never do. Never try to do all of these techniques

at once. Settle on one, get really good at it and start generating

traffic with it, then study the next one. If you can't do

it, then outsource it. Pay other people to apply these

advertising techniques for you. There are lots of sites

online where you can locate virtual assistants for great

prices that will do some of the work for you, so you can

work on the things you are good at while they do the things

you can't or don't want to do.

Once you have generated some traffic to your website,

you need to utilize that traffic. One thing you

absolutely should have is an autoresonder service. You need

to have an opt-in form on your page so you can collect the

emails of your customers. Why do you need to do this? Simple,

because generally people need to hear a message up to seven times before

they will buy. Obviously, they are not just going to keep

coming back to your webpage on their own, so you need to have the ability

to contact them and remind them of your message and what you

are offering them. Trust me, you will get many more sales

if you have their emails and if you contact them every day for

a week to basically restate your message again. You can also

email them later with other products you decide to promote.

This will make you a lot more money than if you just let the

visitors see your site and leave without doing anything.

So two big things you need to remember when you are promotingaffiliate products: Once you have your website up, you need

to send traffic to your website. Focus on one method, then

once you are good at it you can move onto the other forms of traffic

generation. Once you have traffic you need to capture their

contact information so that you can contact them in the future

and repeat your message and promote products to them in the

furure. Also, be sure to offer free content to your subscribers

so that you don't burn them out. And don't overpromote to your list

either.
