All brides want their hen night to be the most remembered and talked about, usually consisting of a meal in a fancy restaurant followed by some serious clubbing and copious amounts of alcohol.
Nowadays hen nights have turned into hen weekends some even joining forces with the stag and his friends for a combined hen and stag weekend. Some will spend the whole time together and others find it nicer if the women and men split up in the day time and do separate activities (lets face it some of the things the men want to do may not be suitable for the women) and then meet up again in the evening for drinks and a meal and possibly a club later on.
For most people the thought of a hen night that involves travelling and more that one night away would seem costly but this needn't be the case. If you book well in advance considerable savings could be made and always ask if there is a group discount depending on the size of your group.
Once you have decided on your destination look around for activities either on site or in the area that will suit you and your group, these could range from crazy activities such as bungee jumping, go carting or the quieter ones such as a health spar most of which will provide a fantastic hen night package, and what could be better than a group of friends spending time together and getting thoroughly pampered.
If money is tight then you could always opt for a hen night in, gather a group of your closest friends or family or both and spend a night in eating what and as much as you want. It is a good chance to spend some quality time with your friends, do not worry about it being boring, it wont be, in the up and coming weeks or months you will be so busy with the wedding then the honeymoon and then most likely starting a family so it will be nice to take time and spend it with your closest friends.
Whatever you do decide to do for your hen night or hen weekend always take plenty of pictures or even a camcorder, there is nothing better than sitting down in years to come to see what a wonderful time you had with your best friends you could even make a scrapbook or mini scrapbooks to give as gifts at the wedding.
Ideas For Hen Night
When organising a Hen Night for you and a group of your best friends, what little things can be done to keep the night fun? The devil is in the details, and when organising a Hen Night, be daring and use some accessories to promote the affair. Hen night accessories can range from the sublime to the really obvious, and can jazz up any party. Remember, this is the final wild hurrah before married life, so make it count!
Quit often the most fun and simplest way to accessories is to match.Wearing some matching t-shirts for the girls in your group, or some custom accessories to show the world what you’re celebrating is always a fun way to identify your group. Everything from pictures of the blushing bride to cartoon mischief on the front of those shirts can let people know what you’re celebrating.
Spice it up! One suggestion we recommend is to create a motif for you and your girlfriends. On www.cocky-hen.com you will find several ideas for Hen’s Night, such as a devil motif. Simply put on some horns to show people you’re out to be little devils, and maybe have some fun with the eye makeup while you’re at it. As well, there’s nothing wrong with sporting some fun black wings to further push the image.
If this doesn’t fit your image, then think about some cheeky gifts. Everything from lacy undergarments to oddly-shaped massages is fair game, and that’s not all. Where are you going to have the party? The simple addition of handouts, such as streamers, hats or buttons can add a lot to the atmosphere. Maybe even something as wild as bottle trainers designed in precarious shapes (to help the bride-to-be with her form) can liven the mood and get people in the right frame of mind. Also, why not make small changes to some existing games? If you’re at a pub, convince the publican to exchange that dart board for some appendage-themed entertainment. It’s only for an evening, and most bars are happy to help.
