Inflatable Canoes are a great choice for the new canoeist ad even for

the experienced canoeist offering a relatively cheap alternative to the

traditional wooden canoes, roto-molded plastic canoes, fibreglass

canoes and carbon models.

Inflatable canoes are favoured for rivers and lakes where access by land

requires foot travel as many modern inflatable will easily pack up

small enough to carry in a rucksack. Inflation is also relatively easy

with many modern inflatable canoes fully inflating in around five

minutes from a small battery operated pump or foot pump. Most inflatable

canoes are solid with pump included if your buying a used inflatable

don't forget to ask the seller if the pump is included. Canoe

manufacturers are now producing a wide range of inflatable canoes and

inflatable kayaks, from larger models capable of carrying two or three

paddlers to white water inflatable designed specifically for white

water travel and recreation. Inflatable canoes have also become very

popular with new comers to the sport of canoeing as they offer a low

cost entry level and relative ease of access. Modern inflatable canoes

are made from tuff acrylic based materials, which are able to withstand

the rigours of river and even white water paddling. As such they are an

excellent choice for canoeists of all levels having similar streamlined

characteristics to their rigid canoe cousins they are only marginally

less capable than solid hull canoes. The biggest single benefit of an

inflatable canoe is portability and for this reason they have become

increasingly popular amongst canoeists. If your now looking to purchase

an inflatable canoe the are many online offers but as with all canoe

purchases you should make sure you find out what style of inflatable

canoe you wish to paddle before purchasing, many canoes and kayaks

stores will carry varying stock of inflatable and should be able to

give you expert advice before you purchase. If your looking to purchase

a used inflatable canoe you should check for ware and tear and ask to

see the canoe uninflected and inflated and if possible get a

demonstration of inflation using the pump supplied. This will allow you

to check a number of factors including size of canoe when deflated,

size of canoe when inflated, to visibly check for damage and possible

punctures and will also let you know how long the boat you are going to

purchase takes to inflate. If your looking to buy new or used

inflatable canoes a wide range of canoe styles are now manufactured

including inflatable white-water canoes (for recreational and

white-water canoeing designed to have a fast and manoeuvrable turning

circle for quick changes of direction in white water and fast flowing

water), inflatable prospector canoes (larger canoes designed for more

than one peddler with larger capacity for carrying provisions

specifically for longer expedition style canoeing.), inflatable

sit-on-top canoes( great fun for canoe beginners). For further
