The beauty of affiliate marketing is that you can use affiliate programs and start affiliate marketing straight away. In almost any other business you have to spend a lot of time and effort involved in sourcing, updating and replacing products. This all costs money. Only then can you start to market them.

You can see that there are several ways of doing this. These are:

1.You intercept the prospect before he goes to the merchant's site, and offer a free report in return for signing up. This can work, but can also lose sales.

2.You just get him or her to sign up, then you promote your affiliate product to the prospect by email.

3.You take the prospect to a page where they have the opportunity of signing up for your report or going to the merchant's site.

You need an autoresponder

If you don't have an autoresponder, I recommend you get one, such as Aweber. This is not expensive, and should be the first tool you buy for your affiliate marketing. I admit that I did not do so as early as I should have done and lost a lot of sales.

So long as you have an autoresponder and can get some free reports, you can start making money as an affiliate.
