After walking thru my local hardware store looking for ideas on how I could update my master bathroom, I was left feeling disappointed. Why aren't there unique bathroom fixtures available at a reasonable price point, that the average joe can afford? This began my online search to find a cost-effective, stylish way to re-do my bathroom.
To begin my search, I googled several different words; RTA cabinets, euro-style vanities, bathroom vanities, bathroom furniture. I never really thought that I would be able to find my renovation solutions online, and if I did what would the quality of the product be? My online search lead me to find some really unique solutions to my bathroom renovation rut. I found a wide range of vanities made out of solid wood that come with a solid stone counter/sink already installed on the vanity. These vanities come in several contemporary finishes, with unique hardware. They weren't like anything I had found (that I could actually afford) in my local stores. The style and design of these vanities reminded me of a piece of furniture rather than a bathroom fixture. It is like having a functioning piece of art in your bathroom. I started to believe that I too could have a bathroom that looked like those featured in design magazines. The only major difference between what I found online and those in the magazines is the price.
While these vanities are more expensive than the other standard RTA bathroom vanities offered on the websites, they are still less expensive than similar products offered at the high end design studios or at specialty kitchen and bathroom stores. The vanities come fully assembled and require minimal skill to install and are shipped directly to your front door. The vanity comes with instructions for installation, but if you do need extra help or have any questions, most of the websites offer online help and live customer support.
With a little time spent online, anyone can find more unique, cost-effective alternatives to their bathroom and kitchen design needs.
Master Bathroom Design Ideas
In the homes that people are buying today, one of the most important features that seem to be a must is the master bathroom. Most of the new homes on the housing market will have a master bathroom, but in some older homes this might not be the case. In homes that were built even a decade ago, a master bathroom might have been overlooked. It can be really hard to sell a home that does not have one.
Even if you are not thinking of selling your older home, the idea of having one of the luxurious master bathrooms that everyone is raving about, can be an appealing idea. You might think that the only way that you can add a master bathroom is if you build an addition onto your home. In many cases this could be the only solution, but in some cases there might be another option.
If you have a bedroom next to the master bedroom that could be opened up and connected to the master bedroom, you could easily turn it into a master suite. Well, we might want to retract the easily part that. Of course there would have to be renovations and plumbing added.
If there is not a room you can use beside your existing master bedroom, you might want to consider relocating the master bedroom to an area of the home where you could achieve this. If you have a garage that is rarely used for anything other than storage, it could be possible to convert this space into a master suite.
Sometimes a home will have one large central bathroom used by everyone. If this bathroom is connectible to the master bedroom, it could be easier to us this as a master bath and add a small bathroom for additional bedrooms somewhere else in the home. There are a lot of ways in some older homes that you can redo the wall structure of rooms that can provide you with the space you need.
Before you do start rearranging wall structures in your older home, just keep in mind that any changes you make will need to work for others too, just in case you decide to put your home on the market to sell later. If you have ideas about creating space for a master bathroom, you might want to consult with a home designer or look over some home floor plans to make sure you are doing a good thing the right way.
