During a conversation I had with a physician who was born in India, he described to me that his father would have him sniff a salt water solution out of his cupped hands into his nose to wash out pollens that aggravated his sinusitis and allergy problems. I asked him if he had mastered the ancient Yogi's technique of pulsating the solution at the rate his cilia beats in his nose; we both shared a good laugh.

You are probably wondering, what was the benefit of pulsating the salt water solution into the nose? The Yogi Masters, who are adept at controlling all kinds of bodily functions; such as heart rate and breathing function, new that the pulsating action combined with the salt water solution did much more than simply inhaling the solution.

To understand why, one must comprehend in simple terms, a unique process that assists your nose in removing debris. The mucociliary system functions to work synergistically with mucous produced and the cilia lining the inside of your nose. Cilia are basically hair-like structures that beat rapidly in your nose to transport mucous and the debris that it traps to the back of your throat, into your digestive juices and out of the body through your waste systems. However, when the cilia loose their mobility to beat back and forth because of the toxic, thick, sticky bio film produced by bacteria or a viral infection, the entire mucociliary system becomes stopped up and looses its effectiveness to transporting mucous. Just remember how congested you feel when you have a terrible cold or sinus infection.

The Neti Pot enables a user to pour a steady stream of salt water solution into their nose; the bulk of which flows directly over the top of the thick, sticky, infectious, bio film that has transformed the healthy mucous from a substance that works cooperatively with the cilia to one that inhibits the cilia from performing as a transport system. Think of a production line, if the conveyor belt becomes jammed, product does not move along the assembly line. Neti Pots vary in cost relative to the construction material; generally plastic, ceramic or stainless steel.

Pulsatile Irrigation delivers a gentle pulsating stream of a buffered saline solution at a rate that gently erodes and removes the bio film that is preventing the cilia in your nose from helping you fight your sinusitis infections and allergy challenges. A Pulsatile Irrigation system generally cost approximately $97.00 and includes a 30day supply of buffered saline solution. Respiraid is a company that offers sinus irrigation systems.

Bottom line; if you are tired of continuously taking medicines to treat your symptoms; start supporting your body to help eliminate the sources of your complications by practicing responsible nasal hygiene. You may be surprised by your reduction or dependence on over the counter and prescription medications by simply flushing out your nose!
