The first thing that you need to know about network marketing is that it is often times referred to as multi-level marketing as well. So if you hear either one of these phrases you know that you are dealing with the same thing.

Most commonly, a standard network marketing arrangement consists of individuals more or less working for a parent company. But the word "working" can sometimes be misused because in network marketing you are an independent contractor. Compensation in a network marketing arrangement is quite simple.

As an independent contractor you will be paid for the sales that you make. And in addition to the sales that you complete on your own, when you directly bring people into the company you will be paid a commission on what they sell as well.

This is a great way to set up an additional stream of income without ever having to put in too much work. The bottom line is if the members that you signed up sell the product or service, you will get paid; this all happens without ever having to lift a finger.

When it comes to network marketing each arrangement is slightly different. In turn, this means that it is very important for you to research all available opportunities before getting started.

Overall, network marketing has become very popular from one end of the globe to the next. If you are aware of network marketing, as well as what it can do for you, there is no reason that you cannot make a lot of money year in and year out.
