Setting up a MySQL database is a bit complex as compared to

holding data in CSV files. Using CSV files is extremely

easy and is faster too provided your data in the database

is around one GB. It maybe stated that most websites

needing a database can better meet their requirement with

the simpler CSV file.

And, to cap it all, there are a few sites where you can

get help to set up your design script to handle the data

with a perl script. A good website to generate online such

scripts for operating on CSV files holding data is

http://www.dbperl.com. Not just the script to operate on

your CSV files (add, edit, delete and search functions),

you also get html pages for these four functions. What

is even better is that you can enter a brief dummy data,

test your script online before downloading it.

So, if you need a custom script to work on a database

likely to be around 1 GB (most fall in this category),

visit http://www.dbperl.com. Here, once you have defined

your fields and criteria, the scripts and html pages are

ready to download in under 2 minutes.

Good Luck!
