At the start of the list is a moderately fresh drummer, several could say that he's not really a punk drummer and more of a metal one but I differ, true he's keen to slow it down and do his metal fills but deep down he's truly a punk-



Steve Jocz -AKA "Stevo"

Born 23/07/1981. Steve is best renowned for his percussionist in the Canadian pop punk group Sum 41. A very speedy and tight drummer, he knows how to turn the feel of a song right away. One of the minority of punk drummers that can record cheesy metal rolls and get away with it. He is also famous for his lavatory comedy which is a known mark of punk maturity/immaturity- you choose!

Tr? Cool (real name Frank Edwin Wright III)

Born 09/12/1972. Tr? is 1 of the original (pretty much) 3 piece that are Green Day. Bending far more to the pop aspect of punk as a drummer, Tr? definitely assisted Green Day achieve the global audience that thrust them to superstars. If he been yet one more, breakneck speed, same old drummer the group would have toiled to attract such a sizeable marketplace.

Josh Freese

Born Christmas Day, 1972. Freese is best renowned for his percussionist in The Vandals but is able to list lots of other groups and accomplishment. A breakneck speed drummer he's able to slow it down and merge with the best and has played for Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne and Guns N' Roses as if to demonstrate the point. His solo works at times reveal a deliberate, more refrained drumming manner showing that a fast pace isn't all although for my part I favour the Vandals noise.

Travis Barker

Born on November 14, 1975. Arguably most renowned for his percussionist in Blink 182 he's also drummed for lots of other groups. Travis sits in at number 2 not just as for his notable speed and timing but because of his wide collection of techniques from Hip-hop to Punk, Country to Pop.

Erik Sandin-AKA "Smelly"

Born July 29, 1966. Erik is the permanent drummer for NOFX. Erik was an original part of the group however left 2 years later in 1983. In 1986 Sandin was convinced to re-unite with the group but suffered from heroin addiction until 1992 when he booked into a rehabilitation treatment centre and has been off the drugs constantly since. Whilst he might not be the top of everybodys list, for anyone who appreciates the flawlessness of NOFX then there is no equal.
