Catalog printing can be an arduous process. If you are just starting out to produce a print catalog, you may have no idea what the first step is. Don't worry, we are here to help you out. The basic steps in catalog printing are all listed below. Follow each one and you should be well on your way to creating nice and effective color catalogs for your business.

1. The first step is determine your target market. This if course is dependent on what type of products you have. If you are a supplier then you will be selling to resellers or retailers. If you are a shop owner yourself, then you will be selling directly to customers. In terms of customers, you may be selling to the general market, youth, middle aged, seniors, males, females, lower class, higher class and other demographics. So it is important to know who usually should buy your products this should help you in the design process for your custom catalog.

2. Next, you need to classify your own products. Divide them by type or class. You can have high end or low end products. You can have luxury items, and bargain items. Of course classify them by type such as cameras, printers, mobile phones etc.

3. Great, once you have organized the information about your customers and products it is time to start on the content. Start by taking a picture of each of your products and then writing a short description for them. Always keep in mind your target audience for your catalog printing. The tone of your text should match your audience. It they are a bit ?techy? then technical specs should be added. If they are for more common people then a simple straightforward style should be apt.

4. Once you have all your content. It is time to do a layout for your color catalog. You can have a professional do this or you can do it yourself if you want. Usually these days this is done in a computer. Catalog printing or publishing software makes it easy to design layouts. Also, as you layout your content usually you will see some areas where you need to add more content such as an introduction, or a promotional message. You should also see in this step where there are more images that need to be done or edited.

5. After the initial layout, it is time to do some decoration. Graphic design for catalog printing basically adds the extra flair and originality to your color catalog. Again you can have professional graphic artists to do this for you, or you are skilled you can do it yourself. Regardless of this, you should use this step to create a wonderful and eye catching design that will catch your target market. If you are a supplier for example, a simple utilitarian design should be okay. For a wider audience, it is good to invest in more vibrant colors, flashy designs and maybe even a model or two.

6. Next, once the design is finished you have to send your design to your catalog printing company. You may have your own local printer, or you can also choose an online catalog printing company to do it for you. See if what services and features you like when looking for a printer. Look for the best quality for the least price. Here you will decide on the paper quality and the number of copies that you want produced. Of course most companies can deliver your catalogs once they are done.

Great! Those should be the basic steps in making your own catalogs. Easy enough right? Good Luck in your venture in catalog printing!

Creating niche products are as simple to some as it is complicated for others. There are the lucky those who can churn out niche products after niche product with the ease of a magician pulling out tricks. Still there are those who struggle even when the ideas had already struck them. Pulling it off just isn't as easy when compared to those who have done it, sometimes time and time again.

There is a simple method though that are usually followed by the more experienced in niche marketing. Compiled here are the common approaches that can prove to be helpful.

Here is where they usually start:

Finding out where the main interest lies.

Pretty much the same as approaching a hobby, niche products creation works better when the creator of the product has passion in what he does. The creator sometimes digs deep into his interests, sometimes not, but always feeling that it is there, ready to be taken out of its boxes.

Niche products creation may or may not require much thinking at first but when it is identified it will require lots and lots of planning. The main thing though is that in any niche product creation, the creator must have a deep interest in the product that he is trying to create. This not only ensure the products birth but also sustains it trough the hard work that will be lying ahead. All has to start from within.

If it is not an entirely new product, niche product creation can also focus in improving existing ones.

Most niche products creation are actually improvements and innovations from those that are already selling. Yet the marketer has developed a sensitivity to what is needed to improve a product and sell it better.

Combining ideas and improving on them.

Also very much similar to the practice on improving on existing ones except that niche product creation in this approach combines many ideas and approaches of improvements on different angles.

Solving a problem.

All niche product creation has to solve a problem or a particular need. Planning and conceptualizing has to focus on this.

Adapting an existing product and marketing that on a different niche.

A product for example that is marketed as a thirst quencher can be remarketed as an energy or tonic beverage.

Using the current selling trend

Use of current hot trends and building your niche product creation from them.

Combining products and repackaging

Providing products have no restriction stipulated in its master resell rights terms, you can bundle these products, repackage them and sell them as a set.

When the product is ready, you can,

Use of public domain information

You can also find work whose copyrights has expired in the ?public domain?. Search engines can lead you to them at no extra cost. These can also be reworked and make it into a selling product. Using catchy .com domain names gives your product a perceived value that will add traffic to your offering.

Utilize private label products

These are products created by another that you can re brand and sell. Usually these comes in the form of written content that could be adopted by modification and adding your own version to it.

Conducting surveys on the net.

Your web visitors are also good sources of information on the product that can be used for niche product creation. Post a survey questionnaire on it and valuable information can be then sifted for your product.

Asking questions gives you excellent opportunities at creating new product niches.
