This is where many people stop their progress. They think that once they have set the goals, created the affirmations and are using creative visualization then what they want will magically appear in front of them. WRONG. I don't know about you, but I have never heard of anyone having a sack of money drop on them while visualizing getting rich. Receiving what we want requires that we take consistent inspired action.



My mentor regularly reminds me of the college basketball quote ?There are no Cinderella stories?. Sadly, there are no fairy godmothers waiting to rescue us and make all of our dreams come true. Our success is up to us. Everyone who has ever achieved success and reached their goals has taken action. They don't just take action once and hope for results. They take action every day, keeping their focus on their goal. Failure is not an option. Think about how much consistent inspired action goes into winning an Olympic gold medal. In service and support of their goal, athletes make the choice to practice multiple hours every day, push through exhaustion and physical fatigue, play through painful injuries, step through fear to take big risks, get up and try again after humiliating defeats and refuse to stop after the win, instead they use the joy of victory to take them to the next level. Consistent action requires that you make a decision to succeed.

Many people love to take action. In fact they are doers ? forever in a frenzy of busyness. Not all action is productive. Inspired action means that you have consciously chosen to engage in that activity because it will get to closer to one of your goals. When you are deciding which action to take, ask yourself this question: Will this activity take me closer to achieving my goal? If the answer is ?no?, then it is non-productive action that is just keeping you busy. Keeping your goals in front of you will help you focus your decisions on which actions are productive and which ones are not.

Make a decision to achieve your goals. Keep them in front of you so you know where you are headed. Review them at least twice a day ? once in the morning and once before bed. At the end of the day, list the actions you took toward each goal and then the actions you will take the next day. Place your affirmations where you will bump into them several times a day ? on your screen saver, your bathroom mirror, the dashboard of your car, the front of your appointment calendar, or as reminders on your phone. When you see them, say them out loud with enthusiasm. Place your vision board up where you see it regularly. Look at the pictures and have fun imaging having, doing or being the things on it.

Taking consistent action is the difference between having really good ideas and achieving your goals.
