Every day, there are people all over the world who decide that they are sick and tired of not having any energy, or the excess fat they are carrying on their bodies.
The purpose of this article is for the people I mentioned above. I'm going to outline some tips that can be very helpful in regards to helping you get on the right path to your goals.
Here are some good tips to help you on your way
1. Stop doing the same repetitive cardio
Many people choose to do the same cardio over and over and as a result they get bored from it and are more likely to stop training. One thing that can counter this is to change around your exercise plan. For example, you could go for a run one day, then a bike ride the next, followed by a swim the next day. Another great idea is to change your workouts to 'interval training'. Interval training is where you will start off at the same pace, and then for a certain interval you will raise the intensity, and then drop it back down and repeat. This is very effective for fat loss.
2. Use structured workouts
Another thing that can be detrimental to people's progress is 'guessing' what to do rather than following a program from someone who knows. This occurs frequently in weight rooms. Many people think they know what to do and just go along with it, whereas most of the time they are actually doing themselves more harm than good. If you go to your local gym you will find trainers willing to give you advice. You can even find a tonne of experienced people in the field of fat loss online!
3. Workout from home
Some people are embarrassed or for whatever reason decide that they don't want to go to a public gym. Luckily, you can do all the training you like from home. If you buy a bench press and some dumbbells, you can easily create a workout program for yourself in conjunction with the people you spoke to after you read tip 2!
4. Cost effective cardio
Sometimes people can't afford a gym membership. They would rather spend their money elsewhere and this is fine. Running is one of the best forms of cardio and you don't need to pay a cent for it! You can also create your own cost effective workouts. One I love to do is to get a deck of cards and write down prior to it what each card represents. You turn over each card and do the corresponding exercise and turn over the next card. This costs less than $2 to set up and you can create all kinds of very effective workouts!
5. Get Support
A lot of the time people just can't find the motivation to continue on with their goals. If you have people who are aware of what you're trying to achieve and are very supportive of you, this can be a great way to make sure you keep motivated and on the right track. An even better situation would be to have a friend/partner or whoever that has the same goals as you and can work out with you!
Tips To Become Fat
In addition, I also learned - the hard way - about how difficult it is to eat on the road, and when stuck in airports for hours and hours at a time (as I was in Washington one night for 7 extra hours).
If your diet sucks, you are going to get fat.
And that's where people fail big-time when traveling. After all, there isn't too much good food to eat in airports, however, its easy to find nutritious food if you know where to look (you can get apples and almonds, and often bananas and even grilled chicken in most airports).
Get pumped up for a workout. It's easy to skip a workout because you can say, "the hotel gym doesn't have the equipment I'm used to"...but if you have a bodyweight training resource, you know there are dozens of great exercises you can do without the need for fancy machines.
Here are 7 tips to help you stay fit and not fat while traveling.
1. Don't eat crap at airports. Some healthy, road-worthy snacks and fluids include water, Green Tea, nuts, apples, and jerky.
2. Plan your business travel meals as much as possible so that you can stick to the options provided in the nutrition section. With all of the focus on nutrition these days, airlines and hotels are much more accommodating in meeting the special nutrition requirements of customers. Ask and you will receive.
3. Make the necessary accommodations so that there is an adequate hotel gym or nearby fitness establishment so that you can continue with the regularly scheduled routine.
4. It is best to purchase a day-pass and go to a local gym to work with a certified personal trainer. However, if there is no time, and there is only a small hotel gym with no weights, use one of the bodyweight-only workouts.
5. Schedule your workouts with as much dedication as you schedule your business meetings. Workout in the morning if you have to. Training is another appointment that can also be used as an excuse to skip the unnecessary post-meeting cocktails and calories.
6. Travel with a "maintenance mindset". Stick to your plan and you'll return home without gaining any fat or losing any fitness. Minimize the nutrition dangers of food, booze, and inactivity with a positive mindset.
7. Spend waiting time walking. If you are enduring a layover in an airport, walk around the airport for a mini-workout if your schedule and surroundings permit.
Bonus Tip: Just relax. Sometimes you deserve a break. Stay active, but allow yourself some mental recovery from a strict training schedule.
So stay strong and stay fit when you are on the road. More travel for me coming up, and for you too I bet. So stay strong. I'll be using these tips to burn fat on the road.
