Barbados is addicting as you'll discover if you decide to vacation there. You will experience the Barbadian culture, as well as getting a sense of the cultural varieties of West India. Just take in the nightlife, music, theater and any other cultural events you can find and you will have an incredible time. Go there once, and you will hardly be able to wait until you can return.



Participating in the active nightlife is not the only thing to do in Barbados. If you love to play golf, you'll be amazed at the wonderful golf courses in the area, such as the Royal Westmoreland, Sandy Lane and the Barbados Golf and Country Club.

Another popular sport in Barbados is cricket. In fact, cricket is the national sport of Barbados and the West Indies. Every year, Barbados becomes the location for thousands of fans to watch the world cricket tournaments at the Kingston Oval.

There are plenty of opportunities for water sports while visiting Barbados. The beautiful, crystal clear water and beaches will keep you outdoors in the sun for hours, going inside only in the evening as you enjoy some of the find dining experiences unique to Barbados. Some of the water sports available include:

(1) rent a kayak and tour the shoreline (2) snorkel close to shore among the rocks (3) wind surf when the breeze is strong enough to carry you (4) take a sailboat and explore the multitude of coves (5) boogie board if you're brave enough, and (6) water ski through the warm, relaxing waters.

If you are an avid water fan you'll find that there aren't enough hours in the day to do all the water sports that Barbados offers.

Barbados is the perfect vacation spot at ny time of the year, but the islands really shine between February and May. During that time, the weather is cooler and drier than the rest of the year. Of course, it's also the prime tourist time, so prices will be slightly higher than any other time of the year.

There are a number of festivals and events happening in Barbados year- round. The Crop-Over Festival began in colonial times. It lasts for several weeks, starting in July, and celebrates the sugar cane harvest. During February, if you are there, be sure to enjoy the Holetown Festival. This commemorates the arrival of the first English settlers in 1627.

The Oistins Fish Festival takes place around the Easter holiday and The National Independence Festival of Creative Arts happens in November.

When it comes down to the bottom line, it really doesn't matter when you go to Barbados. It is always beautiful, exciting with lost of activity.
