With Screwdriver, Will Safely Install

    View:
I've been lightly electrocuted a couple of times during my younger years and I'm fortunate that I barely remember the sting that enveloped my whole body during these events. Allow me to narrate to you my story---I'll keep it short and sweet. Probably I was in the third grade when I first felt the electric rush. My mom said that I stuck a fork in the electric outlet. (What am I thinking poking at home electric wiring like that?) In my defense, I was a child intrigued at how things work. After a year or so, I tried using a ballpoint pen. Again, I did this out of curiosity. All grown up, I acquired some handyman tips on how to fix residential electrical wiring devoid the sting.

Initially, you must first have the right tools for the job, like electrical boxes, wires, cables, outlets, receptacles, plugs and some other items as needed for the job. If you're planning to undertake the project on your own, you better have sufficient electrical installation background before removing plates and wires, remember there are standards and building codes to be followed. So be cautious, be very cautious. You don't want any spark in your house, right? Or worse, unsupervised tinkering with the commercial wiring may cause more than a simple spark. Start canvassing for quality affordable products. However, hauling expensive materials does not necessary mean that you're getting high-grade items that will last long. On the other hand, buying the most reasonably priced electric tools does not equate to great deals. Be keen when choosing your hardware store and you hardware tools. Strictly follow the specifications like wattage and voltage.

Before installing or removing any connection, let's have a rundown of what needs to be done. Shut down power supply prior the project itself. You may opt to trip the circuit breaker or remove the fuse. The wires are color-coded, green is ground/protective earth, white is neutral, while black, red and blue, represents Line1 (L1), Line2 (L2) and Line3 (L3) respectively. Whites are more often than not connected to white wires. Black wires are habitually connected to switches. When connecting new wiring, attached the same to the last outlet in a run of cable. Try to locate it by removing the plates from each outlet. The last outlet in the run has wires connected to only two of the four terminal screws. The two unused terminal screws serve as a starting point for wiring to a new outlet.

If you're already confused with these things, I suggest you call a professional. They'll be glad to take your business. These are the basics, exposed wires are a no-no, though others use electrical tape to remedy said damage. This may be done to those nipped wirings but I don't suggest using this for severely damaged wires and cables. When working with electricity, always put a note next the circuit breaker saying. You don't want to end up being severely electrocuted. Nails and cords; floors and walls; the two groups are not meant to be together. Don't bind them together. Another is not to wind the wires too tight. This may cause the wires to snap. When using the hairdryer in the bathroom, steer clear of outlets. Don't force a plug in an outlet if it doesn't fit. Only plugs and outlets are friends, all other items are ban from being inserted in the latter.

For a kid-friendly house, make use of the safety covers. These are a few of the tips that may be applied to both electrical wiring residentia or commercial installations.

I'll utilize this portion to reiterate hiring a professional to do your home electrical wiring. I can't stress this enough. Take time to get the opinion of an expert with regard your projects. If you're neither comfortable nor confident with your capabilities, please don't force your DIY attitude. Each of us has our own limitations, we just need to realize that these things are better left to the pros.
