Work And Personal Life
All across America, our work is consuming more and more of our time. We're spending less and less time with our families, the people who matter the most. Whether we are working for an employer or are self employed, our work week seems to become more and more of our lives, while our quality family and personal time shrinks.
Hello, my name is Diane and I'm here to help you.
My story begins with my first business twenty-four years ago after the birth of my youngest son. While he was young I brought him with me to work, but as anyone who has a two-year old knows, the next step was a babysitter. I would do most of my constructive work after he went to bed and would work through the night, take a short nap, freshen up and go back to work.
My mindset was, to succeed in my own business I had to work hard, and not have "down time". More and more employers are expecting longer hours from their employees, and for job security purposes, employees oblige. Again, family and personal life loses out.
Within eight years I was recognized for several awards, at the expense of my family and my health. By my tenth year keeping the same work pace, my health began to deteriorate and I had to make the difficult decision to close my businesses. After several years of doctor visits and various therapies, it was finally determined that surgeries were necessary.
Additional financial and health challenges forced me to find another income avenue. The home business industry seemed a viable option. I engulfed myself in the business trying to make it succeed more quickly. I was again working harder, not smarter with little time or energy for family or personal life.
Last May, I was introduced to the teachings of Ellie Drake at BraveHeart Productions. My life began changing; I am learning how to balance work, family, and a personal life. I am learning how I have control over my life. I am learning what my purpose is, how to apply that purpose to my every day life consistently, how to visualize, and be grounded.
Although I cannot bring back the past twenty-four years, I can now help others recognize and change what is happening for them. I can help you identify how to find the balance in your career and personal life. Have you watched, "The Secret"? This DVD really puts everything into perspective.
I now believe that the journey I have taken to get to this place in my life was necessary for me to find my purpose. As a woman of free enterprise and founding member of the BraveHeart Women's Global Community, I have learned to trust in the process, to produce more with less effort and to know my own successes will come when the time is right. I am bringing balance into my life. I am becoming the navigator of my own visions, thoughts and feelings. I cannot force the process by working harder, but by taking smaller steps consistently, abundance will come. Visit my website to see how I am now balancing my life.
