There are literally thousands of copy centers and print shops scattered around the country. Most, if not all operate a website that allows one to order certain types of jobs online. These can include reruns of previous jobs or new copy jobs with originals sent across as digital files rather than paper copies. There are even a few that operate exclusively online and ship completed orders via couriers or mail. No matter what your copy needs, discount copies whether black and white or color copies are available online.

There are several advantages to working with an online vendor when ordering color copies or black and white discount copies. Price is at the top of the list. Online copy centers that do not employ front end salespeople to greet customers at the door are generally able to offer discount copies right off because of reduced labor and salaries.

Using digital files as the media to be copied onto paper is a relatively new technology, but it is one that has caught on like wildfire. RIPping a file from a computer to a copier takes only a few moments and ensures that no damage is done to the original that could delay the production of the copies while a new original is made. There are also some labor savings involved when the operator of the copier does not have to place originals to be copied onto the machine. This is especially true if a booklet or presentation folder is being copied for distribution. Digital files ensure no chance of pages getting out of order.

Newer, more expensive copiers, for color copies as well as black and white, are different from the older models that had to have an operator there constantly to keep paper in the trays and make sure that originals are kept in order throughout the copy process. The newer machines are fed from rolls of paper and include knives to cut the sheets to the correct size right off the roll. This feature along with the use of digital media instead of paper originals make these machines run faster than older models. Online vendors are more likely to have the money to invest in these because of reduced overhead.

It is much likely that a person can find discount copies, including color copies online than looking in the yellow pages or down the street. This occurs for different reasons, including reduced overhead and labor costs, newer more modern equipment, and use of digital media as originals instead of paper originals. Online copy centers that operate via the internet exclusively are more likely to offer deeper discounts because of having fewer employees and less overhead than other suppliers of black and white or color copies.
