Leadership Personal Development Plan

    View:
You've always known that you are a team player, and you've probably always known that you are ready to take on the task of team leadership. However, what you might not know is that no matter how good you are at team leadership, and no matter what kind of a team player you are, personal development is a way to make you stronger, more successful, and better and what you do, overall.

Personal development means that you are focusing on the skills that you have in order to improve them, and also that you are learning new skills that can benefit you life in general, and of course, benefit the team. When you are working on your personal development, it means that you are never finished learning. You are a strong, successful person and you are focusing on ways that you can make yourself even more so. Working on personal development allows you to become even more concrete in the areas that you know you excel, and begin to develop brand new skills that are going to be beneficial to everyone.

A team leader is someone who is good at personal development. This is because as you go through life, and as you lead your team, things do not stay the same. Part of personal development is focusing on changing for the better, and helping yourself to learn the skills that are necessary for you to change. When you become the leader of a team, no matter what that team is dealing with and no matter what level of expertise that team is at, you are going to be working with the same people over time. You are also going to be doing the same things, no matter what business you are working in, and no matter what number of things you have to do as a team leader. However, as time goes on, you know that you are going to have to change the way you do things. New technologies come to the forefront, and there is always something different that you can do to make your team run smoother and to help your business excel. Therefore, you are going to have to always be open to change, and ever ready to adapt to the times.

Personal development is like going to school ? you are going to keep your mind open to new possibilities and you are going to be able to change and grow with the world around you. No matter what kind of team leader you are to begin with, by working on your personal development, you'll be able to get much stronger and much clearer in your leadership style. This is the best way that you can excel at team leadership.
Leadership Personal Development Plan
Your attitude is everything! The results you get from life are in direct proportion to your internal beliefs and attitude toward yourself and others. I am sure you have met extremely negative people during your life journey and know the affect that they have on others. They also tend to attract difficult situations into their lives and create even more of the things that they complain about.

If you have a recurring problem in your life you should take a very close look at your attitude towards it. Do you complain about it? Do you resign yourself to it? Do you EXPECT it to keep occurring? The following personal development technique can help.

If you view your life from an objective standpoint you will find that the things that are going wrong in your life are the very things that you complain about and expect to happen. By concentrating your mental efforts on the problem you are actually attracting more things, situations and people to you that will perpetuate this problem and probably make it even worse. Without even going into the universal law of attraction, from a very practical viewpoint you are projecting to others what you expect from them and life. People tend to respond to this, albeit unconsciously, and give you what you expect!

Asking yourself appropriate questions is the fastest and easiest way to completely transform your life and attitude. When you encounter a recurring problem you will find that you make statements such as "not again!", or "this always happens to me", or "I just knew that would happen!" You also find that the questions you ask yourself also reflect the problem itself and not the solution. You may ask questions such as "why does this always happen to me", "when is this going to stop happening", or "how long do I need to keep going through this", or "why can't I get past this", or "why can't I find a decent partner (job, home, career etc.).

These questions focus your mind on the problem and your mind is forced to answer the questions in a negative way. You may then have thoughts such as "because it's my bad luck", then your mind goes into a spin and recalls all the bad luck you have had. You may answer "there are no good men/women left" so your mind goes into a spin recalling just how many good people are married and how many "bad" people are left. Your subconscious mind is then on the look-out for people and situations that reinforce this belief and it then alerts you once it finds them.

The key to reversing this downward negative cycle lies in the way you speak to yourself and others. Instead of making statements that reinforce the problem reverse your outlook. Tell yourself "things are getting better" no matter how unrealistic this seems at first just keep telling yourself this. Instead of saying things such as "this always happens to me", or "I just knew that would happen!" tell yourself "everything happens for a reason" or "I will learn from this and move forward".

Do not say things like "this will never happen again" or "I am through with this problem" because you are still focused on the problem! Keep your focus always on the solution!

Begin now to ask yourself constructive questions that are not focused on the problem but are focused on the solution instead. This is a very powerful yet extremely easy thing to do that will dramatically transform your attitude and your life!

Try asking positive questions that require a constrctive positive answer such as "do I need to learn something from this experience and if so what is it?", or "what is the very best way for me to overcome this and create the results that I want to experience?", or "where should I look and what should I do to attract the right partner for me?"

Asking yourself the right questions will change how you view the situation and force your mind to search for answers. If the mind does not have the answers it will be more open to new experiences and the subconscious mind will be constantly alert for anything that can answer the questions that you have posed to it. Making statements that things are getting better forces the subconscious to look for things that reinforce that belief and alert you to them.

Believe it or not this approach will alter your entire perception of the world and your role in it. Before long you will find yourself becoming a much more positive person. You will gain insight into situations that in the past where perplexing and a constant irritation.
