Quotes From Greys Anatomy

View:

With news of a tentative agreement between the picketing Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, there are now reports that Grey's Anatomy could be back in production early next month. If this comes to fruition, four or five installments of the award-winning medical drama will be shot for airing in April or May.

The prospect of a resumption of filming for the show offers welcome relief to Grey's Anatomy fans who are probably experience withdrawal from lack of new episodes.

The last original installment of Grey's Anatomy was ?Lay Your Hands on Me,? which aired on January 10. The episode saw Derek (Patrick Dempsey) finally getting around to asking Rose (Lauren Stamile) out on a date. It also featured a tender moment between Izzie (Katherine Heigl) and Alex (Justin Chambers).

"I think Alex has a deep longing for [Izzie],? Chambers remarked in an ambush interview at this year's recently concluded Screen Actors Guild Awards. ?He's not man enough to admit it, and he has a lot of issues to work out. Hopefully he'll get secure enough."

Speaking of Justin Chambers, the 37-year old actor voluntarily checked himself into the psych ward at the UCLA Medical Center on Monday, January 28. A representative said the Grey's Anatomy co-star was ?exhausted and suffers from a sleeping disorder and went in voluntarily to get some help.? Chambers checked out of the medical facility two days later.

According to TV Guide's Michael Ausiello, other ABC shows may also soon be back at work. He named Brothers & Sisters, Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives among those rumored to resume filming. Meanwhile, freshman series such as Pushing Daisies, Samantha Who? and Dirty Sexy Money, which have all received full-season orders, are likely to return to production over the summer.

Quotes From Greys Anatomy

With the uncertainty of how long the current writers? strike could endure also comes the corresponding concern regarding the fate of many shows presently on the air. Understandably, there is much anxiety for fledgling programs that stand to have their maiden seasons prematurely cut short because of the standoff between the Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. However, it isn't only the freshman shows that find themselves in imminent jeopardy. Even heavyweights such as Grey's Anatomy are likely to feel the pinch of the ongoing boycott, which many in the industry suspect, could go on all the way through to the holidays.

Patrick Dempsey, who stars as Dr. Derek ?McDreamy? Shepherd on Grey's Anatomy, has voiced his fears for the show and its personnel, in the event that the writers? walkout drags on.

"The problem is that we're not that far ahead, script wise,? Dempsey has admitted. ?I think we'll have enough shows that take us through Christmas, and, after that, we'll see if that's the season or not. I think there's a real chance of that happening. It's going to be very bad for television, certainly. The season will be wiped out.?

"My concern is not so much for myself really, because I'll be alright, but I think how long this strike lasts is going to affect a lot of people that are living paycheck to paycheck - they are going to be damaged profoundly by this, and I think that's a real tragedy,? the Grey's Anatomy star has stated. "I think a lot of people and a lot of families are going to be in a difficult place in their lives; hopefully we can come to some sort of understanding and resolve this soon enough that it doesn't affect those people."
