I used to collect soda bottles from my neighbors to get money for popsicles and Batman comics. Later, I mowed their lawns, ran errands for them, sold Christmas cards, delivered newspapers and whatever else I could think of to earn money.



It wasn't that I was greedy or anything, I just liked being able to buy baseball cards, Dr. Pepper and black licorice whenever I wanted. Sometimes I wish I could go back and visit those generous people, but I'm sure they've moved on to a different realm by now.

Then, after the summer of '69 when all the flower power and peace, love and brotherhood seemed to die with Altamont, I dropped out altogether and moved to Sweden to live in a commune.

That was great, for a few months. It seems that all pigs are created equal, but some pigs are more equal than others. In other words, the charismatic and strong soon dominated the all-to-willing-to-be-led weak.

Eventually, I came back to the US, learned a trade, got married, had a large family, lived on the outskirts of town and was generally quite happy.

Then the sky fell. In a short amount of time, my wife, and the marvellous mother of our children, just fell to pieces. She just fell to pieces. Soon, she was gone and there I was, alone with the children.

By this time, some were grown, but I had 4 very lively teens to parent, while working my 55 hr. a week job. I got no support from my so-called friends, especially the ones from our church. Seems we suddenly became untouchables.

We never had enough money. We had several wolves a week howling at our door, looking for more. Somehow we managed to squeak by, but barely. That's when I decided to find a part-time job.

The first attempts were disastrous. I was gone all the time and getting very worn out. It was a real Catch-22. Once I opened myself to the idea of doing something other than trade my body and time for money I was overwhelmed with programs, offers, ideas and get-rich-quick-schemes (GRQ).

I even tried a few of the GRQ schemes, but all that did was discourage me and put a big black mark on my credibility. I attended a few seminars to learn commodity trading. I even opened a few accounts, raised cash to invest and was soon rolling along.

That might have worked, but it was impossible to stop thinking about the trades. It was also extremely difficult to control because of the volatility of markets. Finally, I lost all my money and was left holding the bag.

Phone cards, MLM, more MLM; so finally I just decided that it was not going to happen and went back to trading my body and time for money. This time it was even harder because I was older and my children needed even more attention in the form of rides, homework, activities, etc.

As I was slowly sinking, I kept wondering what I could do. So I wrote an ebook called The Secret. It was inspired by a comment a counselor made after he interviewed me. He asked me what my "secret" was.

Really, it was the exact same concept as the famous book by the same name, only hers was professionally done, complete and an outstanding work.

But then it clicked for me! I was honestly on to the same thing, I just had not been able to develop it or articulate it. It seemed that all the inner dreams and hopes I had refused to give up during my entire life could finally be realized, by making use of the law of attraction.

I watched the movie over and over again. I read and re-read the book. I made a vision board and practiced visualizing my dreams. Much to my amazement, one thing after another began materializing in my life.

In a few months we were living in an absolutely beautiful house on the Connecticut River, I had a new car, my daughter got a full $45,000 scholarship to a very good university, I met a very kind-hearted and lovely woman, my work became much easier and less stressful and the best is still coming!

Now, my online business is growing daily, right before my eyes. I had visualized what I expected, and now it is happening. Not that there was no work involved, not at all. Actually, there was a lot of work, but it was and is different than in the past.

There must be thousands of people like me out there. We all once had dreams, idealistic dreams of a loving, and prosperous world. The best we can do is to make it happen for ourselves.
