Carhartt Jackets, in the initial days, were meant primarily to serve the workers and thus the apparel had all the qualities to last a lifetime. In those days, an effort was made to manufacture the jackets which were durable in nature. At the same time, less importance was paid towards their styling and comfort.

So in those days, the end result was a rugged Carhartt Jacket, which could last generations with ease but proved weak when it came to assess the comfort factor. Nonetheless, in those days men usually preferred products like Carthartt Jackets as their work was physically demanding and rugged in nature.

Time and tide waits for none-it's true:

As the years progressed, the work, which initially involved back breaking physical labor, slowly transformed itself into a desk job. This led to a lot of changes and the transition was felt the most by the clothing industry.

Carhartt Jackets had to be modified to suit the needs of a modern day man and care was taken to ensure that the missing comfort was added to the original product. It was like adding sugar to a weak coffee.

Carhertt Jackets were made to look softer, the fabric was changed and the designs altered. An effort was made to ensure that the style matched the expectation of the modern genre. While all this was being done, care was taken to ensure that the Carhartt Jackets maintained their toughness and retained their image as an all terrain brand of rugged apparel.

The division of jackets in accordance to their usage

As we discussed earlier, Carhartt Jackets started as a workman's apparel before managing to hold their stead by adhering to demands of the modern day world. As the nature of jobs changed, the need for a workman's apparel gave way to a whole new world.

The transition led the Carhartt Jackets to reconsider their image and strategize in accordance to the popular demand. This led to the introduction of the Waterproof Jacket, the Sherpa Jacket, the Thermal Jacket, the Extreme Jacket, the Unlined Jacket and finally the Carhartt Flannel Jacket. It was now evident that Charhartt had started aping the modern trends. With time, the brand managed to retain its niche by diversifying its exclusive range in lieu with the demands of its consumers.

The motto-keep the price well within range

Carhartt Jackets were manufactured to serve the working class. This involved supplying jackets to people who were by no means rich. So a typical Carhartt Jacket was meant to be an affordable purchase and not a priceless wonder.

As time progressed and the use of jackets took an entirely new perspective, the Carhartt range stuck to its basics and maintained its hold on the inflating prices. The jackets here continued to be sold at a price which met the expectations of a common man.

At the same time an effort was made to ensure that the jackets made no compromises in its durability. In this way, the Carhartt Jackets retained its image as a labor friendly brand without compromising on its quality quotient.
